For an assignment, I was told to document or sketch what I encountered within a 200 step radius from my point of origin, capturing both what I physically observed and what I experienced. I formatted my project in the form of a book, titled, "Delightful Obscurities", collecting my illustrations of things that remained out of sight, obscured, in an attempt to capture the romantic and lonely moment achieved through its observation. Each illustration was designed to bear a snapshot quality, to depict a "captured" moment. The book allows for the viewer to flip to each page and experience each illustration individually, while seeing how each moment relates to each other in concept. The book is a small object, granting the viewer with a personalized and private experience, one that was reflective of my own state of being when initially creating these illustrations on sight.
